NATIONAL TRANSFER ACCOUNTS FOR PAKISTAN

This report is a product of long collaboration between the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) on constructing the National Transfer Accounts (NTA) for Pakistan. The UNFPA did not only provide finances for the completion of this report but also managed the training of both the authors of this report at various international workshops and meetings. Building the NTA for Pakistan was very important given the stage of the demographic transition in the country right now, and the opportunity it provides in the form of the demographic dividend. The PIDE being a think tank under the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, Government of Pakistan, enjoys a special position to give policy inputs, and it is hoped that this report and its findings would find a way into the policy processes in the country.
