The Punjab Commission on the Status of Women maintains a Gender Management Information System (GMIS), which is a one-of-a-kind repository, covering over 290 indicators. To collect this data, the commission reaches out to over 1,300 public departments across Punjab and categorized the information received across 6 thematic areas. This data is then thoroughly analyzed and presented in the form of Punjab Gender Parity Report (PGPR). A salient feature of the report is the policy recommendations given with each chapter, highlighting areas of focus and possible interventions. These are based on the data received from relevant departments and secondary research incorporating national and international best practices. This report is an important tool to make reliable data available for informed decision making, measure effectiveness and record empirical evidence of the achievement made to empower women of Punjab. This report has been a collaborative effort of the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women, with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) UK Aid.
