The preliminary 2017 census results have shown that Pakistan counted 208 million inhabitants, which would translate into an annual population growth rate of 2.4 percent since the previous census of 1998. The administrative and territorial characteristics of the country require a sub-national approach that we try to address in this
report in pursuance of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) recommendations.
