Child marriage is a harmful practice, however many young girls are married off at an early age because they are not registered. UNFPA is working with the Government of Pakistan in establishing a centralized Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) system which will ensure all births, marriages, deaths and divorces are registered.
